196 MARCH SPHCIAL SEMION, 19M
g. That the resolution from County od Hnrom rr, asking the Pm
vincial Gov't to contribute a portion to the cost ad indigent patients,
be concurred in.
All of which is respectfully submitted.
(Signed) JOHN GZOlgGE,
Cbairesan.
Report of the Essex County Library Co-Operative
Yard 22, 1965.
Considerable attention has centred on work with the libraries
in the County since the beginning of the year. We are happy to report
that the official opening of the Belle River Library was held non Febrn•
ary 12th and Stoney Point Library will celebrate its official opening a
Friday, March 25th. Through -the support of the Townships of Saad-
wich East, Sandwich South and Sandwich West, Roseland Library hoe
been moved to new quarters on Cabana Road and the resulting pub&
city and better location have indicated an increased membership MA
circulation at Roseland Library.
In considering the Roseland Library situation we became aware
of the ever increasing population in the Sandwich West and FAA
areas which are too far from Roseland Library to %se iL To date,
these people have used the Windsor libraries by paying a am- member
fee but it is felt that they live in the County, pay their taxes to the
County and that the County Library should assunne full responsibility
for providing adequate library service. Consideration b being given to
the possibility of setting up deposit stations or ad organizing hoab.
mobile service in these areas until more permanent library entlab
may be developed. Our biggest difficulty is the demand for books
and the fact that we do not have adequate stock to meet ow present
needs. We are allocating as much money as possible to the p w
cbsse of books this year, ss we have done in the past, but tha
demand for more library service throughout the Couab for a Leeds
our supply of books.
