<br />County of Essex
<br />
<br />AMHERSTBURG _ Was incorporated as a village in
<br />1851. and as a town in 1878. This was the first
<br />incorporation in Essex County.
<br />
<br />ESSEX _ Was incorporated as a village by By-law No.
<br />14, dated August 14th, 1883. Created a town
<br />January 13th, 1890.
<br />
<br />FORD CITY _ Was incorporated as a village by
<br />By-law No. 306. dated December 3, 1912; was
<br />created a town in the year 1915; a city in April
<br />1929. by the Ontario Municipal Board and named
<br />East Windsor; was amalgamated with Windsor,
<br />Walkerville and Sandwich by an Act of Legisla-
<br />ture, effective June. 1935.

<br />HARROW _ Was incorporated as a police village by
<br />By-law No. 90, dated June 10, 1898; created a town
<br />by an Act of Parliament (See Chap. 83. 20 to
<br />George V, 1930).
<br />
<br />KINGSVILLE _ Was incorporated a village by
<br />By-law No. S, dated June 21, 1887; was created
<br />a town by Act of Parliament.

<br />LA SALLE _ Was created a town by Act of Parlia-
<br />ment. Cap. 102, 14 George V, 1924. Incorporated
<br />into Township of Sandwich West by O. M. Board
<br />Order January 1. 1959.
<br />
<br />LEAMINGTON - Was incorporated as a village by
<br />By-law No.4, dated November 26; 1874 was made
<br />a town.

<br />OBJIBW A Y - Made a town by Act of Parliament,
<br />Chap. 198, 4-4 George V, 1913. Annexed to
<br />Windsor Jan. I, 1966 by O.M.B. Order.
<br />
<br />RIVERSIDE _ Was incorporated as a town by an act
<br />of Parliament, Chap. 121. 11, George V, 1921.
<br />Separated from County Jan. 1st, 1950, Annexed to
<br />City of Windsor, Jan. 1st, 1966 by O.M.B. Order.

<br />SANDWICH - Was incorporated as a town in 1858.
<br />Separated from County, June, 1935.
<br />TECUMSEH _ Was incorporated as a town by an act
<br />of parliament, Chap. 125, II George V, 1921.
<br />WINDSOR _ 1854 until 1880, was then separated
<br />from the County; was amalgamated with Walker.
<br />vlie, Sandwich and East Windsor by an Act of
<br />Parliament effective June. 1935.
<br />WALKERVILLE - Walkerville was a village for
<br />many years, but was not incorporated until 1890,
<br />when the town separated from the County. Amal.
<br />gamated to Windsor, June, 1935.
<br />BELLE RIVER - Was incorporated as a'-village by
<br />By-law No, 3. November 26. 1874; was incor-
<br />porated as a Town by O.M.B. Order, January 1,
<br />1969.
<br />ST. CLAIR VILLAGE - Was incorporated as a
<br />village by Act of Parliament, Chap. 91,4, George
<br />V,1914.
<br />TOWNSHIP OF SANDWICH EAST - Annexed to
<br />Windsor Jan. 1, 1966 by O.M.B. Order.

<br />
<br />STONEY POINT - Was made a police village by
<br />By-law No. 12, June 17, 1881.
<br />
<br />COTTAM - Was made a police village by By-law No.
<br />341, June 13, 1914.
<br />
<br />SEACLIFFE _ Incorporated as a police village by
<br />By.law Nn. 537, June 20, 1924.
<br />
<br />COMBER _ Was incorporated as a police village by
<br />By-law No. 28, passed January 31, 1890.
