County of <br /> f Essex <br /> Joint Health and Safety Committee <br /> 3rd Quarter Meeting Minutes (Q3) <br /> Meeting Date: October 31, 2017 <br /> Meeting Time: 2:30 p.m. <br /> Members Present <br /> Management Reps: Greg Schlosser, Scott Holland (Co-Chair) <br /> CUPE 2974.1 Reps: Terri Marentette, James Bryant (Co-Chair) <br /> 1. Review of Previous Meeting Minutes <br /> a. Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed for unfinished business. <br /> 2. Unfinished Business <br /> a. A copy of the Lock-out / Tag-out Policy was received. Committee members <br /> to discuss the policy with Maintenance Staff to get more insight into <br /> specifically what pieces of equipment require lock-out and if specific <br /> procedures for those pieces of equipment have been prepared. <br /> MSDS Online database is operational and available through "County <br /> Connect". Maintenance Lead Hand is the administrator for the Civic Centre. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> The JHSC is recommending that a binder be maintained and available for use <br /> by employees in the event that the there is a power interruption, or no <br /> access to a computer. <br /> All obsolete equipment including buttons, strobe light in administration <br /> offices, and wiring was removed as per e-mail dated 2017-07-25. <br /> b. The Human Resources will provide incident reports to the JHSC Chairs at the <br /> time they are complete. <br /> c. The JHSC Terms of Reference were shared with all Committee members <br /> weeks prior to the meeting. The final draft was submitted to the CUPE <br /> Executive Committee on October 31St. The goal is to have both the CUPE <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
