Be it further enacted that Joseph L. Reaume shall be and he is hereby . <br />appointed Returning Officer to hold the first election of Reeve and Councillors <br />for the said Village cf Ford City and he shall give one week's w:•itten notice <br />thereof posted up in at leastthree conspicuous places in the said Village and <br />he shall preside at the nomination of such Reeve and Councillors, or in case <br />-, <br />of his absence the electors shall choose from among themselves a chairman <br />- <br />who shall have all the powers of a Returning Officer, and the duties of the <br />Returning Officer shall be those prescribed by law with respect to incor- <br />porated villages. , <br />5. The Township Clerk of the Township of Sandwich East shall furnish <br />to the Returning Officer upon demand made by him for the same a certified <br />' <br />copy of so much of the last revised assessment rolls of the said Township as <br />may be required to ascertain the persons entitled to vote at such first elec- <br />tion, or with the Collector's rolls, documents, writing or statement that may <br />be required, which copies shall be verified on oath as now required by law, <br />t. $$ <br />and the expenses of furnishing the same shall be borne and paid by the <br />u ui� <br />Village Council to the persons entitled thereto. <br />6.
