-96 BY -LAWS OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br />Articles of agreement entered into June 7th, 1902, Between: - The Corpor,,., <br />atlon of the Town of Walkerville of the first part and the Corporation of the <br />County of Essex of the second part.' _ <br />Whereas by all agreement between the -above named parties dated the <br />7th day of June, 1902, the amount to be paid by the party of the first part to, <br />the party of the second Fart was fixed for the period of five years. <br />And whereas the said agreement has been continued between the parties <br />and it is necessary and expedient to enter into a new agreement for the <br />.assessed sum to be paid by the party of the first part to the party of the see- <br />end part commencing: with the year 1912. - <br />Be It therefore agreed that the party of the first part shall pay to the <br />party of the second part for the present year 1912 and for each of the years <br />1913- 1914 -1915 -and 1916 the sum of Seven IIundred and Fifty Dollars in full <br />settlement of all amounts -which the party of the first part is or shall be liable <br />to -:pay to the said party of the second part under the provisions of the Act of <br />-- Incorporation of the said town and of the Municipal Act and all other Acts <br />imposing liability on separated towns and to include coroners' inquests, exam- <br />_ illation of lunatics and all other like charges. <br />The said payments are to be made or or before the 15th day of December <br />in each year. <br />It Is therefore agreed and understood that for the sake of convenience of <br />all Crown witnesses whose fees may be payable by the Town of Walkerville <br />the County Treasurer will advance to the said witnesses their fees according <br />to the order thereof which shall be recouped by the Treasurer of the Town of <br />'Walkerville immediately after the court of which the said fees shall become <br />payable. - <br />In witness whereof the parties hereto have hereunto affixed their re, <br />spective seals and the hands of their head officers. <br />.Signed, sealed and delivered in the - presence of." <br />And whereas it 9s expedient to adopt the said agreement- <br />Itis therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the <br />(lounty of Essex that the said agreement be adopted by this council and that <br />Ilia Warden and Clerk execute the same on behalf of the said County and <br />attach the corporate seal. thereto. <br />(Signed) JOAN F. Council of .' <br />the County of Essex, show that the same contains over seven hundred and <br />fifty inhabitants. +a <br />�z <br />I <br />BY -LAWS OF TT -IE COUNTY OF ESSEX J7 ry <br />And whereas the residences of such inhabitants are sufficiently near to <br />form an incorporated village, <br />And whereas not laps than one hundred resident freeholders and house ; <br />holders of the said village and neighborhood of whom not less than one -Half <br />are freeholders, by their petition, do pray for the incorporation of the said <br />village and neighborhood as a village, <br />It is therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the 1 <br />Ccunty of Essex in Council assembled under and by virtue of the - Municipal <br />Institutions Act of Ontario, as follows: it <br />i <br />1. On and after the passing of this by -law the Inhabitants of the said <br />village of Ford City and neighborhood comprised within the boundaries here -- <br />. inafter mentioned shall be and they are hereby constituted a body corporate <br />apart from the Township of Sandwich East, in which the said village of Ford <br />City and neighborhood are situate, under the name of "The corporation of the <br />Village of Ford City" and shall enjoy all such rights, powers and privileges as <br />are now or shall hereafter be conferred upon incorporated villages In the <br />Province of Ontario. <br />2. The said Village of Ford City shall comprise and consist of the follow- <br />ing lots and parcels of land and be bounded as follows, that is to say: All and <br />singular that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate lying and <br />being in the Township of Sandwich East, County of Essex, Ontario, contain- <br />ing by admeasurement four hundred and eighty -five acres more or less, being <br />composed of the northerly portions of lots numbers ninety -seven (97) to one <br />hundred and eleven (111), inclusive, in the First Concession of the said Town- <br />ship of Sandwich East, commencing at the intersection of the northerly limits <br />- of the lands of the Canadian Bridge Company, Limited, with the easterly - <br />limits of the lands of the Lake Erie and Detroit River Railroad Company, _ <br />which said point is also in the easterly limit of the Town of Walkerville; <br />thence easterly along said northerly limit of lands of said Canadian Bridge <br />Company four hundred and eight (408) .feet more or less to the northesterly <br />limit of said last mentioned Company's lands, thence southerly along the <br />easterly limit of the last mentioned Company's lands one thousand four <br />hundred feet nine inches more or less to the northerly limit of the lands:: of <br />the Essex Terminal Railway Company, thence north easterly along said <br />,northern limit of said Essex Terminal Railway Company's lands four thousand <br />and thirty feet more or less to its intersection with the southerly limit of lands <br />of the Grand Trunk Railway Company; thence easterly along said last . men- <br />tioned limit one thousand and seventy feet -more or less to its intersection <br />with the .easterly limit of a private road known as the Parent Road; thence' <br />northerly along said last mentioned limit three hundred and twenty -five feet.' <br />more or less to a point six hundred feet from the southerly limit of the Wind - <br />sor and Tecumseh Railway Company's lands measuring southerly along said - <br />easterly limit; thence easterly . and parallel with said southerly limit of said <br />Railway Company's lands and at uniform distance . of six hundred .feet there. <br />from measuring on a course parallel with said easterly limit. of Parent Road - <br />a distance of three thousand three hundred feet more or less to the easterly <br />limit of Paid let number cne hundred and eleven; McNiff's survey, said last <br />mentioned point being also in the easterly limit of the lands of one Tracy Me <br />- <br />F Gregor, thence northerly along said last mentioned limit one thousand eight <br />hundred and forty, feet more or less to the channel bank of the Detroit River; <br />sthence westerly and following the several courses and bends of said channel <br />bank to the north - easterly limit of the said Town of, Walkerville, thence <br />Z southerly along the easterly limit of said Town of Walkerville Sour hundred- <br />and seventy -five feet more or less to tine southerly linnit,of Sandwich Street; <br />g thence westerly along the said last mentioned limit fifty feet more or less 'to <br />b - the northeasterly angle of lands of Parke Davis and Company, Limited; <br />thence . southerly along the easterly limit of said lands of Parke Davis and <br />
