<br />BY-LAWS OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br />for the sum of Four Thousand Dollars is hereby accepted, and the <br />Warden of the County in conjunction with the Building Committee <br />appointed by the By-law, is hereby authorized to carry out the pur- <br />chase on behalf of the County so soon as the said agreement with <br />Leamington be legalized and the County Solicitor reports the title <br />satisfactory, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay the pur- <br />chase money upon the warrant of the Warden. <br /> <br />5. The following persons, namely, J. D. A. Deziel, G. F. Cronk <br />and N. A. Coste are hereby appointed a committee to be known as the <br />Building Committee whose duty it shall be to advertise for tenders <br />for the erection of the said House of Industry and of Refuge as soon as <br />the agreement with Leamington becomes legalized and thereafter to <br />proceed and let the contract and generally do what is necessary from <br />time to time in the erection and proper completion of such premises, <br />but at a cost not to exceed $20,000. <br /> <br />6. The Treasurer is hereby authorized from time to time to pay <br />for the erection of the said House upon the Warden's warrant and the <br />Waden shall sign warrants upon receiving progress certificates of the <br />achitect as the building progresses. <br />7. That the remuneration of the architect for the preparation of <br />plans, specifications and details and for the superintendence of the <br />work, and for all his sureties in connection therewith shall be at the <br />rate of 3% per cent of the cost thereof and if he provides the Inspector <br />of the work it shall be four per cent. <br /> <br />(Signed) THOS.
