Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held October 27, 1999, at 8:00 p.m. regarding a petition
for sanitary sewer service.

PRESENT:

Mayor Wayne Hurst
Councillor Robert Anderson
Councillor Lynne Fox
Councillor Gerry Theriault
Councillor Tony Tiefenbach

ABSENT

Deputy Mayor Tony DiBartolomeo
Councillor Robert Pillon

ALSO PRESENT:

Bill King, Chief Administrative Officer
David Mailloux, Clerk

A list of residents in attendance is attached hereto.

Mr. Ken Madill of Stantec Consulting was present to provide information and review his report with
regard to a petition for a Sanitary Sewer on the 3rd Concession from Municipal address 3860 to
County Road 20.

A number of residents present advised that the project was too costly.

Mr. Ken Mansell asked that his name be deleted from the petition

Mr. Jack Herceg explained that he had been asked by the owners of the Malden Marsh to see if
sanitary sewers would be feasible. The report has been prepared and the people now have a say.
Perhaps grants will be available in the future.

Some discussion took place concerning including this project in with the larger project similar to the
other end of the 3rd Concession. It was explained that the other area of the 3rd Concession actually
brought the estimated costs down slightly for the project whereas the present area brings the cost up.
It was also questioned why this area was not included in the original grant request. It was explained
that this area had larger lots where conventional septic systems can work whereas the lake area
generally has small lots where conventional septic systems do not work as well.

Mr. Herceg asked if Council would be willing to ask the people in the Malden sewage area if they
would be willing to pay a small amount more to have this area included. Council felt that the answer
would be negative. After lengthy review and discussion the following resolution was passed.

Moved by G. Theriault, seconded by T. Tiefenbach that the sanitary sewer project for the area from
Municipal address 3860 to County Road 20 be put on hold until such time as grants become available.
Motion Carried

Moved by G.
