ESSEX COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD SPRING TOUR 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 1996 Members Present: Mr. Innes, Mrs. Haugh, Messrs. DiMenna, Laird, and Warden Schmidt (left after Harrow to attend another meeting) Mr. Varga had planned to attend but was unexpectedly required to attend a funeral out of town. Mr. DeYong had indicated at the regular Board meeting that he would not be attending. Ail branches south of County Road 8 were visited: McGregor, Amherstburg, Harrow, Kingsville, Ruthven, Cottam and Essex. The Board met with Councillor Lorraine Damm of Colchester North Council at the McGregor Library to discuss future plans for the library. At the Amherstburg Library, Board members noted the moisture damage in the lower level of the Library, especially at one of the window corners. This area is primarily behind the front steps and has been an ongoing problem which has been previously reported to the Town. At the Harrow Library, board members were told of the new ceramic flooring for the program area which is being generously donated by the Harrow Knights of Columbus. The original vinyl tile floor has been permanently damaged and replacement under warranty was denied. The ceramic tile will complement the colour of the carpeting and provide a balance to the ceramic tile in the entry/circulation desk area. Board members noted that in spite of having been recently repainted, the windows at the front of the Kingsville Library were badly peeled. The improvements to the sidewalk through the Town's Infrastructure Program were noted. At the Ruthven Library, Board members discussed the use of the library, especially by Mersea Township residents, with Supervisor Hilda MacDonald. The Cottam Library facilities appeared to be in excellent condition. At the Essex Branch, Board members noted once again that the outside of the windows needed painting and the shrubbery should be trimmed. Secretary George had recently written to the Town in the
