D ECEM BER SMUL SEMOPi, 33 Essex County Library Cooperative I think that a ll members of the Council are aware of the fad that our County Library has grown tremendously in the last year aA will continue to grow in the future. As you know, we found that our supply of books was inadequate and that we shall have to increase our supply in the coming year. We all realize that our County Library renders a very iwpoctaat service throughout the County and although we can not see this ser- vice in the same way as if we put up a new building, hwevez there are more and more communities each year that wish to obtain library service either in their schools or through the establishment of a local library. It will be necessary for the new library board to be ready to take over as of January 1st, 1956 as we have been notified by the powers. tube, that the present board completes its term of office as at De- cember 31st, 1955- And so we speak with the voice of the citizens of Essex County when we say a sincere and heartfelt, "thank you" to the Essex County ConMB for the unselfish and far - reaching devotion to public welfare which you have consistently given through your County Library system. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Library Board and the Library personnel for their one hundred per cent cooperation. It certainly has been wonderful.
