CllL to Order <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Chairman Gibb welcomed all and called the meeting 10 order. <br /> <br />Disclosure of Interest <br /> <br />Mr. Duncan ackncwledged a conflict of Interest regarding property access <br />matters and announced that he would leave the room during that <br />discussion. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />3. !!riff to EA Commlttet' Rl'23rdlne "Towards ImDrovlnl! the <br />,Environmental Asst>ssment Prooram in Ontario" <br /> <br />Mr. Carnies explained that the brief. as prepared. supports the opinion <br />of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) by saying that the <br />environmental assessment pl'OC'E!SS should be Inte~aled into the <br />munidpal planning process, enabling munidpalities to practise <br />comprehensive planning at the local leveL <br /> <br />Mr. Duncan agreed that the existing process tends to undennine what <br />it is intended to do and that the MOE should go back to the drawing <br />board. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Stewart concurred by saying that we were tied to a process for the <br />salce of a process and that the process does not allow a munidpallty to <br />get to the problem which exists.
