<br />The Council met pursuant to adjournment from January session. Present, the
<br />WaMen, and Messrs. Russell, Lamarsh, Rondot; Trembly, Plant, Cada, )brand, Blan-
<br />Ding, Carney, Gaboury, Lyons, Mullins, Brett, McCain, Orton, Rochelea$ and El-
<br />liot. r. Orton gives notice that he will to- morrow introduce a by -law to levy a rate
<br />for road@ and bridges.
<br />yr. plant gives notice that he will to- morrow introduce a by -law to provide for
<br />the payment of qualified school teachers.
<br />Mr. McCain gives notice that he will to- morrow introduce a by -law to incorporate
<br />the village of Kingsville.
<br />yr. Elliott gives sno e � notice that he will to- nwrrow introduce a by -law to repeal all
<br />by -laps assuming y roads.
<br />The 39th rule was suspended for dispatch of business.
<br />Mr. Lyons gives notice that he will at the neat sittings of this Council, move for
<br />a return of the aipount due by municipalities for county rate, and also the amount
<br />of the county debt to date.
<br />Mr. McCain introduced a petition praying that the village of Kingsville be incor-
<br />porated as a separate municipality.
<br />Moved by Mr. Elliott, and seconded by Mr. Rocheleau, that the petition for the
<br />incorporation of the village of Kingsville be received, and that two enumerators be
<br />appointed for the purpose of taking the census. Carried.
<br />Moved by Mr. McCain, and seconded by Mr. Orton, that John Meddough and W.
<br />A. Grenville be, and they are hereby appointed by this Conacil as enumerators, for
<br />the purpose of taking the census of the village of Kingsville, and that they report
<br />during the present session, and that the Warden and Clerk sign the acme, and at-
<br />tach the corporate seal thereto. Carried.
<br />Mr. Iler gives notice that he will to-morrow move for a report from the reeves sa
<br />to the views of the ratepayers with regard to a scheme for borrowing a certain sum
<br />of money for the improvement of roads and bridges of the county.
<br />Moved by Dr. Carney, and seconded by Mr. Elliott, that the Warden and the
<br />mover and seconder be a special committee for the purpose of obtaining the informa-
<br />tion necessary for the establishment of a county poor house, and to submit a achrme
<br />for the same for the consideration of the Council. Carried.
<br />Moved by Air. Orton, and seconded by Mr. Elliot, that this Council adjoern until
<br />to o'clock to- morrow morning. Carried.

<br />June 19tb, 1877.
<br />The Council met pursuant to adjournment. The roll was called. All the nretn-
<br />here present except Messrs. Elliott, Iler, Carney and Gaboury.
<br />The minutes of yesterday were read, and upon motion of Mr. Plant adopted.
<br />Several by -laws were laid over.
<br />Mowed by Mr. Lyons, and seconded by Mr. Moraud, that the Treasurer he instructed
<br />to tumish a return, during the present seasion of this Council, of the amount due by
<br />the several municipalities for county rate up to date, and also the amount of county
<br />debt up to date. Carried.
<br />Mr. Patterson presented a petition from certain inhabitants of the township of
<br />Colchester, praying for a grant of money for opening the town lines between Col -
<br />cheater, Sandwich East and Maidstone, which was read and referred to Road and
<br />8 rwge Committee.
