MINUTES OF THE WINDSOR -ESSEX COUNTY 41 ST ANNUAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 2000 AT 4:00 AT CABOTO CLUB, 2175 TECUMSEH RD. EAST, RECEIVE 2000 AtiA�olPlfa71�H1'Qi There were present: Pat Soulliere (Chair), Dean Zalev, Roy Henly, Paul Bondy, Keith Andrews, Herb Brudner, Tony DiBartolomeo, Don Marsh, Jack McGee, Fulvio Valentinis, invited guests and WECDC staff CHAIR'S WELCOME Chair Pat Soulliere called the meeting to order at 4:15 PM and welcomed guests to our 41' Annual Meeting. She recognized Bruce Crozier M.P.P. Essex, and past chairs Murray Elder and Clare Winterbottom. a) City of Windsor Councillor Fulvio Valentinis explained that Mayor Hurst was in Washington to attend an OAS (Organization of American States) conference. The OAS is planning on holding their general assembly meeting in Windsor June 4 -6. It is expected to attract about 900 delegates, foreign journalists and other dignitaries to discuss topics ranging from threats to security and democracy, combatting drug trafficking and improving human rights. "On behalf of the City of Windsor, the Mayor asked me to bring greetings to this Annual Meeting of the Development Commission. Paul Bondy and his staff have to be commended for their continual hard work on the job. They have our ongoing gratitude." He noted that a top priority this year is to assemble and service industrial lands. "The mandate of the Commission is to promote the region as a desirable business location. The standards have been set. We know that it can and will be achieved. Congratulations and keep up the good work!" b) County of Essex Deputy Mayor of Amherstburg, Tony DiBartolomeo brought greetings on behalf of the County of Essex. "The Warden was unable to attend but wanted me to pass on congratulations to Mr. Bondy and his staff on another successful year ". Tony confirmed that Pat Hayes, Mayor of Lakeshore is looking forward to working on the Commission Board as a new representative. Cont...
