MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WINDSOR -ESSEX COUNTY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION HELD TUESDAY, APRIL 25, 2000 AT 4:00 PM AT CASINO WINDSOR, BOULEVARD "C ", 377 RIVERSIDE DR. EAST There were present: P. Soulliere (Chair), R. Henly, P. Bondy, K. Andrews, G. Bolohan, H. Brudner, R. Clarke, B. Harvey, P. Hayes, M. Solcz, J. St. Aubin, B. Wood and E. Prior Pat Soulliere, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:05 PM and thanked Keith Andrews from Windsor Casino for graciously hosting our meeting and providing refreshments, etc. She also gave a special welcome to our new members. All members introduced themselves explaining their involvement and other interests. The Chair also expressed the importance of our activities and "to keep new ideas coming in ". 1. DISCLOSURES OF INTEREST - None 2. MINUTES It was moved by H. Brudner, seconded by R. Henly and carried that the minutes of February 8th Board of Directors' Meeting and March 7" Annual Meeting be adopted as circulated. 3. BUSINESS ARISING FROM FEBRUARY 8' MINUTES a) Item 4. Industrial land on airport property, Town of Tecumseh — Paul Bondy reported on attending a meeting in Tecumseh regarding land availability. They agreed there is a need for the City of Windsor and the Town to get together and discuss land issues. Paul concurred that this is a "political" issue. There was a suggestion that correspondence go to the County to encourage development and servicing. Pat Hayes confirmed that Lakeshore will be pushing for servicing. b) Item 5. Role of City of Windsor's Economic Development Services (EDS)— Pat Soulliere provided some clarification. The City's EDS relates primarily to tourism, conventions and hospitality. We will continue to work with the CCBA and perhaps focus on improving specific blocks. There is still concern with regard to the EDS name and confusion it may create. Chair agreed to speak to Mr. Wills for his comments.
