<br />Lie it enacted, that there %hall also be raised, levied, and enlleeted, the
<br />sum of two thousand dollars, for the purpose of creating a fond for the said
<br />Jurors anendinz the Court of Assizes, Nisi Prt and General Quarter
<br />Ses,,ions of the Peace and County Conn, in Rod for the Raid County of 1'.aerea,
<br />upon the whole rateable property in the County of Essex, in addition to
<br />all other rates and assessments unposed for county or township purposes.
<br />Be it enacted, that the sum of $1 per diem be paid to each and every
<br />Grand anti Petit Juror, for each day's attendance at any of the Courts of
<br />Assizes.;Nisi Prius, tt.e General Quarter Sessions of the Peace and the County
<br />Court ;and the further sum of 10c. per inile for every mile necessary travelk
<br />ed by such Juror, from his place of residence to the Court Howse of the said
<br />County, according to the pay list to be kept by the Sheriff of the said
<br />county.
<br />Be it enacted, that the Sheriff of the said County, rhall be entitled to
<br />receive the following sums and no more, for the services performeft by him
<br />under this by law, vis: for every pay list the sum of $1 ; then for checking
<br />same, per diem, 25c.; and for certifying and returnitig the same to the
<br />Treasurer of the said co::nty, the sum of t.
<br />Be it enacted, that all sums payable under the third and fourth sec•
<br />tions of this by -law, shall be paid by the Treasurer of the County, upon the
<br />certified Jury List of the Sheriff.
<br />And be it enacted, that the burden of 'the said several assessanenb
<br />above required shall be proportioned amongst and borne by the several
<br />municipalities in the proportion or shares hereafter named, and the several
<br />sums met opposite to the names of each munic.cipality in the schedule here.

<br />for the Feveral rates for which they are designed, and shalt be paid over into

<br />Whereas it is necessary to er_title the several townships in the Count
<br />of Essex to certain sump, of money out of the Le;;islative School Grant forthe
<br />payment of legally qualified teachers, to assess the several townQhtl1e in
<br />sutrrs equal, at least, to the sums apportioned, after allowing for tleif'alcations
<br />and ex penRPS for collection ; and whereas it is necessary to provide for the
<br />salaries o( Local Superintendents of Schools; and whereas it will require the
