Whereas, it is necessary to provide the sum of *10,410 w astray the comet expenses of the county of Essex, according to the estimate of the Finance committee; and whereas, it is expedient to raise thr sure of $2000 for the payment of Grand and Petit Jurors attending the Court , Am,yes, Nisi Prius and general Quarter Sessions of the Peace and' y f the county Court Be it therefore enacted by the county Council of the Corporation of d 4 the aiunty of Ew►ex in Council assembled, under and by virtue of the- - -- -- Upper Canada Municipal Institutions Act, and it is hereby enacted 1 2 7 J by the authority of the same, that there sball -be raised, levied ud col. kctrd the sum of $10,410 upon the whole rateable property in the o01111ty of Essex, in addition to all other rates and assessment& for and during the present year, for the general current expenses of the said want, of Essex. Be it-enacted, that there shall also be raised, levied and collected the sum of $2000 for the purpose of creating a fund for the said Jurors atteniting the Court of Assizes, Nisi Prius and general Quarter Sessions c(tbs Pence and county Court in and for the said county of Essex, upon the whole rateable property in the county of Essex, in addition to all ether rates and assessments imposed for county or towusbip purpom Ile it enacted, that the sum ct $1 per diem be paid to each aed every Gnsd and Petit Juror for each days' attendance at any of the Courts of Ate, Nisi Prius, the general Quarter Sessions of the peace and the county Court; and the further sum of 10a per mile for every mile aecersarily travelled by such Juror, from his place of residence to the Court House of the said county, according to the pay list to be kept by the Sheriff of the saiO county. Be it enacted, that the Sheriff of the said county, shall be entitled to reosive the following sums and n0 more, for the services performed by him under this by -law, viz., for every pay list, the auto of $1; for eh"ng the same, per diem 25c; and for eertifyiDg and returning the am to the Treasurer of the said county, the sum of =1. Be it enacted, that all sum& payable under the third and fourth see_ fi m of this by -law, shall be paid by the Treasurer of the county, upon the certified Jury -list of the Sheriff.
