R <br />BY LAW NO. 74. -For the protection of eoxaty reads µrid iir gn is <br />the coraety of Esser, and for otter yurposm <br />Passed Zd February, 1863. <br />Whereas, it is expedient and desirable that some provision should be <br />made to prevent the obstruction of streams, creeks, water courses ad <br />roads on the county roads of the county of Essex, and also for the pa. <br />tectiou of the several county bridges in the county of Essex, <br />Be it therefore enacted by the Municiral Council of the county of Be• <br />eez • e <br />1st. That from and after the fussing of this by -law no person or p* <br />was shall obstruct streams, creeks, water courses and bridges on the cow <br />ty roads of the county of Essex, by trees, brash -wood, timber, or other <br />material <br />2d. That no person or persons shall obstruct a county bridge or bridges <br />by depositing, or allowing to remain on it or them, any cord -wood, <br />stone or other material, or using the said bridge or bridges for any other <br />purpose than for travelling. <br />3d. That no person or persons shall drive horses or cattle at any Ims <br />taster than s w&Jk over any bridge on the county roads more than twW <br />ty feet in epan. <br />4th. That any person guilty of an infraction of any of the provi- <br />of this by-law, shall, upon conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding <br />twenty dollars, to be enforced with costs by summary conviction before <br />any Justice of the Pam having jurisdiction in the county of Essen; cod <br />in default of payment to be leviel by distress and sale of the goods &W <br />ehatteb of the offender or offenders.
