26 <br />qualified Teachers, and a further sum of two hundred and forty -eight dol- <br />lars for the payment of Local Superintendents of School,. <br />I. Be it therefore enacted by the County Council of the Corporation <br />of the County of Essex, in Council Assembled, under and by virtue of the <br />Upper Canada Municipal Act, and it is hereby enacted, by the authority <br />of the same, that there be raised, levied and collected, upon the rateable <br />property in the several Townships in the County of Esitex, in addition to <br />all other rates and assessments, for the payment of qualified Teachers and <br />Local Superintendents of Schools, the sum of $2569 ; and that the several <br />sums set opposite to the names of each Township in the Schedule hereunto <br />annexed, and forming part of this By -law, shall be raised, levied and col- <br />lected therein, in the same manner as all other County Rates are now by <br />law raised, levied and collected; and the sums for the payment of qualified <br />Teachers in the said Schedule mentioned, shall be paid into the hands of <br />Sub - Treasurers of School monies of the several 'townships respectively, <br />on or before the 14th day of December now next ensuing. <br />SOLOMON WIGLE. <br />D. McMULLIN, Warden. <br />County Clerk. <br />BY —LAW LXI. <br />A BY—LAW <br />To levy a tax in the County of Essex, for the improvement of certain <br />Road and Bridges in the aforesaid County of Essex, <br />[Passed 27th June, A. D. 1861. <br />Whereas it is expedient to raise the sum of $2543, for the improve. <br />went of certain Roads and Bridges in the County of Essex. <br />I. Be it therefore enacted, by the Council of the Corporation of the <br />County of Essex in Couucil Assembled, under and by virtue of the Canada <br />Municipal Act, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that <br />there shall be raised levied and collected, the said sum of $2543.1 upfn the <br />whole rateable property in the said County of Essex, in addition to all other <br />rates and assessments imposed for the improvement of certain Roads and <br />Bridges in the aforesaid County of Essex. <br />He Be it enacted that ilia said sum of $2543, to be raised and levied <br />as aforesaid, shall be expended as follows: That is to say, on the divisioe <br />line between tine 'township of Romney, in the County of Kent, and the <br />Township of Mersea, in the County of Essex, the sum of $150, and that <br />Mr. Malott be a Commissioner to expend the saine. <br />04 the Town line between the Township of Tilbury AVest and <br />Mersea, ilia sum of $113, and that :Messrs Malott and Desjardia, be <br />(;ommiasioners to expend the same. <br />
