14 <br />A BY-LAW <br />To establish a County Grammar School at the Village of Windsor, to be <br />styled the Windsor County Grammar School. <br />(passed 6th November, A. D. 1867. <br />Whereas, there exists at present no Grammar School in operation in the <br />the County of Essex ; and, whereas, it is expedient to promote the estab- <br />lishment of schools where the higher branches of education may be <br />taught; and, whereas, it bath been represented by the petition of certain <br />inhabitants of Windsor that with the aid of the Government grant a <br />Grammar School could be maintained and supported at that place; and, <br />whereas, it is expedient to grant the prayer of the said petition and to <br />appoint that a Grammar School be established at Windsor, <br />Be it enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Esfex in Coun- <br />cil assembled, under and by virtue of the Upper Canada Municipal Corpo- <br />ration Act, and under and by virtue of the act passed in the 16th year of <br />Her Majesty's reign, chaptered 1869 and it is hereby enacted by the <br />authority of the same, that there shall be authorized and established at the <br />village of Windsor a Grammar School for the County of Essex, and to be <br />styled the Windsor County Grammar School, and entitled to derive such <br />support from the Grammar School fund as may be from time to time <br />granted by and through the Educational Department of the Province. <br />And be it further enacted, that the following gentlemen be nominated <br />and appointed as a first Board of Trustees for the said Grammar School, <br />and that they shall retire in the order in which they a nam <br />re ed, as follows <br />Dr. Dewbon and John O'Connor, Esq., to retire the first year. <br />James Dougall and Francis Caron, Esgs., to retire the second year. <br />The Rev. E. H. Dewar and S. 8. Macdonald, Esq., to retire the third <br />year. <br />J. H. WILKINSON, THEODORE MALOTT, <br />County Clerk.
