<br />Passed Jane 22d, 1877,
<br />Whereas, it is necessary, so as to entitle the several municipalities in the county of
<br />Essex to certain sums of money out of the Legislative grant as apportioneA by the
<br />chief Superintendent of Education, for the payment of the salaries of legally gnali-
<br />fied Public School Teachers, to assess the said several municipalities in sumo equal,
<br />at least, to the sums apportioned after allowing for defalcation and expenses of col-
<br />lection;
<br />And whereas, it will require the sum of $3,404 to be be raised, levied and collect-
<br />ed for the payment of the said qualified Public School Teachers :
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the council of the corporation of the ' county of Essex,
<br />in council assembled, under and by virtue of the Public School Act of the Province
<br />of Ontario, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that there shall be
<br />raised, levied and collected upon the whole rateable property in the several munici-
<br />palities in the county of Essex, in addition to all other rates and awasmeuta, fa
<br />the payment of qualified public school teachers, the sum of $3,404, and the several
<br />sums set opposite to the names of each municipality in the schedule hereinunder
<br />written, which schedule forms part of this by-law, shall be raised, levied and col•
<br />lected therein respectively, and the said several sums shall be collected and paid
<br />into the hands of the township treasurer, on or before the fourteenth day of De-
<br />cember next ensuing.

<br />passed June 22d, 1871,
<br />Whereas, it is necessar and expedient to establish a County Model kk"l wl is the
<br />county of Essex, and to provide and levy the sun, of one hundred dollwo towar p
<br />the mine:
<br />lke it therefore enacted by the council of the corporation of tke Uounty of Es"', is
<br />council assembled under and by virtue of the Public School Act of the Pruviuce of
<br />Ontario, that the siun of one hundred dollars be paid towards the establishweut of a
<br />County Model t ehool in the county of Essex for the current year.
<br />Aud be it further enacted that the said sum be paid to the secretary of the sciiuil
<br />board within whose jurisdiction such model school may be situated' and the wardlvi
<br />is hereby authorized to sign warrautd upou the treasurer of the said county fur the
