<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ESSEX COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD <br /> <br />SPRING TOUR <br /> <br />9:30 a.m., Saturday, <br />April 30, 2005 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mr. Varga, Mr. McDermott, Ms. McLean, Mr. O'Neil <br />and Ms. Robinson <br />Chief Librarian George and Manger of Branches Thompson <br /> <br />The Board toured the following branches south of County Road 8: <br />the three in the Town of Essex - McGregor, Harrow and Essex, two <br />of the three in the Town of Kingsville - Cottam and Kingsville, and <br />those in the Town of Amherstburg and the Municipality of <br />Leamington. with mediation scheduled for Monday, May 2, flying <br />information picket lines were present at the Amherstburg, <br />Kingsville, Leamington and Cottam Branches. <br /> <br />The tour provided an opportunity for the Board to meet <br />staff at their libraries, examine the facilities <br />overview of the operations of the branch libraries <br />municipalities in the southern part of the County. <br /> <br />some of the <br />and get an <br />in the four <br /> <br />Board members were generally pleased with the appearance of the <br />libraries. <br /> <br />At the McGregor Library Board members were joined by Essex Deputy <br />Mayor Percy Dufour to discuss the state of the building. Mr. <br />George provided a brief history, some statistics and asked about <br />the future of the facility. <br /> <br />At the Harrow Library Mr. O'Neil commented on the snow fencing <br />dividing the Library parking area from the neighbour's front yard. <br /> <br />At the Leamington Library Supervisor Sue Tuck discussed the <br />progress being made in updating the book collection and the need <br />for more computer workstations which were to be installed shortly. <br /> <br />Chair Varga had supplied his vehicle for the tour thus saving the <br />rental fee for a vehicle. <br /> <br />Chair Varga declared the meeting to have been of extraordinary <br />length and set the per diem at one and a half times the regular <br />rate. <br /> <br />All of which is respectfully submitted. <br /> <br />Mr. William Varga, Chair <br />
