The phased rehabilitation
schedule would attempt to rectify the most critical
elements of the terrace and loading dock region of the
building in priority sequence.
Mr. Taves questioned if there was an alternative to using
salt during the winter season to alleviate deterioration.
Mr. Faulkner stated that salt substitutes such as urea
would be used on the structure which are less corrosive
than salt. It was also suggested that perhaps electric
heating of the concrete be considered as an alternative to
salt. Mr. Maisonville stated that this could be explored
with the consultant.
B) Building Envelope - J. P. Thomson Associates Ltd.
Committee members considered a report from J.
