<br />AAC YAK <br />Volume 2, Spring 2007 <br /> <br />Elections are behind us and new beginnings are in the air. Undoubtedly, Accessibility <br />Advisory Committees have been slowed down due to new Council and Advisory <br />Committee members joining the groups. Welcome to all of you who are new to our <br />cause! As we gear up for our next 4-year stint, it is our hope that we can continue to <br />work together and support one another in our endeavours to make the Windsor and Essex <br />County area fully accessible for all people. Let’s continue to stay connected and <br />inspired! <br /> <br />AAC Updates <br /> <br />Essex County Accessibility Advisory Committee <br /> <br />Linda Saxon Melissa Bissonnette <br />Christine Easterbrook Rob Bahry <br />Rob Schmidt (County Councillor) Therese Lecuyer <br />John Boyko <br /> <br />ECAAC is working on the following initiatives: <br />- Planning our 5 Annual Accessibility Workshop <br />- Improving communications for people with hearing and visual disabilities at the <br />Civic Centre <br />- Furthering our work on providing a “quickplace” chat room on the Connecting <br />Windsor – Essex Portal for issues regarding people with disabilities <br />- Improving physical accessibility and office design in Civic Centre committee <br />rooms, cafeteria and Council Chambers <br />- Continuing working with the Library Board to make all libraries accessible in <br />Essex County <br />- Monitoring and participating in the planning of the new Accessibility Standards <br />Committees <br /> <br />For more information, please contact Mary Brennan at (519) 776-6441 ext. 335 or <br />mbrennan@countyofessex.on.ca. <br /> <br /> <br />
