<br />The Corporation of the County of Essex <br />By-Law Number 2020-30 <br />A By-law to prescribe the form, manner and times for the <br />provision of notice as required under the Municipal Act, <br />2001. <br />Whereas the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, Part VI, Practices and <br />Procedures, S. 270 Adoption of Policies, provides that <br />(1) A municipality shall adopt and maintain policies with respect to <br />the following matters: <br />4. The circumstances in which the municipality shall provide <br />notice to the public and, if notice is to be provided, the <br />form, manner and times notice shall be given; <br />5. The manner in which the municipality will try to ensure <br />that it is accountable to the public for its actions, and the <br />manner in which the municipality will try to ensure that its <br />actions are transparent to the public. <br />And Whereas it is deemed advisable to set out the minimum notice <br />requirements for those actions for which the notice requirements are not <br />prescribed under the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001 or its regulations; <br />and, <br />And Whereas this by-law is not intended to supersede or be in <br />conflict with any act or regulation of the Province of Ontario or any Federal <br />legislation; and, <br />Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex <br />enacts as follows: <br />1.0 Interpretations Within This By-law <br />"Act" or “Municipal Act” means the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, <br />as amended; <br />"Clerk" means the Clerk of the County of Essex;
