The roll was called, a quoram <br />present. <br />Air. Balfour introduced by -Iaws to provide the sum of $too towards the Cowtt <br />Model School, and $5o each to Institutes of teachers in the North and Son <br />Ridings of the County of Essex, which were read a first time and ordered to be <br />read a second time to- morrow. <br />The Equalization Committee presented their report. Report resin, and "m <br />motion laid over until to- morrow. Appendix A. <br />The County Treasurer's estimates and the accounts of the different nuaiupal. <br />ities with the county were read and referred to the Finance Committee. Ap. <br />pendix B. <br />Mr. McCain gives notice that he will to- morrow introduce a by -law to confirm <br />the report of the Equalization Committee. <br />Mr. Balfour gives notice that he will to -morrow introduce a by -law to provide <br />for the payment of qualified school teachers and School Inspectors. <br />The Council adjourned until ten o'clock to -morrow mormnnigr. <br />(Signed,) J. Plant adopted. <br />In the order of the day, Mr. Balfour moved the Council into committee of the <br />whole for the second reading of a by-law to provide and lev� the sum of $too <br />towards the Institutes of teachers in the North and South Ridings ings of the County <br />of Essex, Mr. Iler in the chair. By -law read a secopd time. <br />The Council resumed. By -law read a third time and passed. <br />Mr. Balfour moved the Council into committee of the whole for the ,Xcolxl <br />reading of a by -law to provide and levy the sum of $too towards the County <br />Model School of Essex, Mr, Orton in the chair. By -law read a second time. <br />The Council resumed. By -law read a third time and passed. <br />The report of the Equalization Committee was again read, and laid over until <br />the afternoon. <br />Moved by Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Plant, that aid be granted to the <br />North and South Ridings Agricultural Societies to the amount of $100 eueh <br />Carried. <br />The Warden presented a communication front Th.
