<br />Moved by Mr. Elliott, and seconded by Mr. Rocheleau, that the thanks of
<br />this Council be tendered to the retiring Warden for his able and impartial
<br />conduct in the chair during the past year. Carried.
<br />Mr. McKee presented a communication from the Assistant Provincial `+ern -
<br />tary relative to certain additions to the Registry Office, which was read and re-
<br />ferred to the Building Committee.
<br />Moved by Mr. Orton, and seconded by Mr. Strong, that the Council adjourn

<br />The Council met pusurant to adjournment. The roll was called, a quorUm
<br />present.
<br />The minutes of the preceding day were read, and upon motion adopted.
<br />In the order of the day; it was
<br />Moved by Mr. Rocheleau, and seconded by Mr. McKee, that Pierre Ray-
<br />mond, A. Sinclair and James Duncan be appointed examiners on the County
<br />Board of Instruction for the current year. Carried.
<br />Moved by Mr. McCain, and seconded by Air. Plant, that the Clerk be and is
<br />hereby instructed to advertise in the ESSEx RECORD for tenders for gaol sup-
<br />plies for the present year to be furnished to the county gaol, such tenders to
<br />be received up to the 12th day of February next, and that Messrs. Blanning
<br />and McKee be a committee to receive the same. Carried
<br />Moved by Mr. McCain, and seconded by Mr. Orton, that Charles G. Fortier
<br />be appointed one of the auditors for the current year. Carried.
<br />A communication was submitted from Alex. Bartlet, Esq., notifying the
<br />Council of the resignation of Francois Caron, Esq., one of the members of the
<br />Windsor High School Board. Communication read.
<br />Moved by Mr. Blanning, and seconded by Dr. Carney, that D. Cameron be
<br />appointed High School Trustee, and that T. E. Kilroy be appointed in the
<br />place of Francois Caron, resigned.
<br />Moved in amendment by Mr. Rocheleau, and seconded by Mr. Orton, that
<br />John Davis, Esq., be appointed instead of Mr. Kilroy.
<br />After some discussion, the matter was allowed to lay over until the afternoon
<br />session.
<br />Moved by White, and seconded by Mr. Rocheleau, that the following

<br />The Special Committee appointed to strike the Standing Committees for
<br />the present year, presented their report. Appendix A.
<br />Moved by Mr. While, and seconded by Mr. Lyons, that the report of the
<br />committee appointed to strike the Standing Commttees be adopted. Carried.
<br />Moved by Mr. Balfour, and seconded by Mr. White, that the Clerk do fur-
<br />nish to the Printing Committee, during the present session, an estimate of all
<br />the printing and advertising that may be required by the county during the
<br />present year. Carried.
<br />Petitions were presented by 'Messrs. Balfour and Mickle relative to the es-
<br />tablishing a High School in Amherstburg, which were read and referred to the
<br />Education Committee.
