<br />The Council met pursuant to adjournment. The roll was called. ,
<br />Present— Solomon Wigle, Esq., Chairman, and Messrs. Brav, Chem.
<br />bars, Coate, Deliale, Gignac, Knapp, McKee, McMahon, Montmil,Pwk,
<br />Russell, Shay, Trudell and T. Wigle.
<br />• The minutes of yesterday were read, and on motion of Mr. Cosh, o*
<br />onded by Mr. T. Wigle, were adopted.
<br />pursuant to notice of yesterday in the order of the day, it was mold
<br />by Mr. Coate, seconded by Mr. Shay, That Menem T. Wigle, Nlisle,
<br />McMahon, Trudell, Knapp, Montreuil, Russell, Gignse asd Coeta be
<br />appointed a committee to equalize the Assessment Rolls.
<br />Moved in amendment by Mr. Bray, seconded by Mr. McMahon, That
<br />the Council now go into committee of the whole for the equalization of
<br />the Amessmeut Rolls.
<br />Upon the vote being taken on the amendment it resulted as follows:
<br />Yeas — Messrs. Bray, McMahon, McKee, Chambers and Russell —S,
<br />Nays— Messre. T. Wigle, Knapp, Deliale, Shay,l Gignac, Montreail,
<br />Trudell, Park and Coate --9.
<br />The amendment was lost. The original motion was then put ad
<br />carried.

<br />Pursuant to notice given yesterday, Mr. Chambers presented the pe6•
<br />tion of John McKanney praying remuneration for work done oo coal
<br />line between Maidstone and Sandwich East. Appendix A.
<br />Moved by Mr. T. Wigle, seconded by Mr. Russell, That the petition
<br />be referred to the Road and Bridge committee. Carried.
<br />Mr. Chambers presented the petition of Henry Hamilton and o"
<br />praying aid and extension of drainage on town line between Maidstone
<br />and Gosfield, when, on motion of Mr. Chambers, seconded by Mr.
<br />Bray, the petition was referred to the committee on Road and Bridgm

<br />Moved by Mr. Gignae, seconded by Mr. Shay, That this Council do
<br />now adjourn until threw o'clock P. ac. in order to give time to the Equ &
<br />nation committee to make their report. Carried
