<br />" <br /> <br />THE CORPORATION Of THE COUNTY Of ESSEX <br /> <br />BY-LAW NUMBER 57-2009 <br /> <br />BEING A BY-LAW TO CEASE THE APPLICATION <br />Of THE SHOPPING CENTRE PROPERTY TAX <br />CLASS AS AN OPTIONAL PROPERTY TAX CLASS <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex ~, <br />adopted By-law #08-1999, on February 17th, 2009 to adopt <br />optional property tax classes including: Parking Lots and Vacant <br />Land property class, Shopping Centre property class, Office <br />Building property class and Large Industrial property class; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS the application of the optional property tax <br />classes adopted by By-law #08-1999 have been reaffirmed by <br />Essex County Council by by-law annually since 1999; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the County of <br />Essex deems it expedient, pursuant to Section 12 (8) of The <br />Assessment Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. A. 31, as amended, to adopt a <br />by-law to cease to have the Shopping Centre Property Tax Class <br />apply, commencing January 1, 2010; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the County of <br />Essex hereby enacts as follows: <br /> <br />1. THAT the Shopping Centre Property Tax Class previously <br />adopted by the Council of the Corporation of the County of <br />Essex cease to apply commencing January 1, 2010. <br /> <br />2. THAT the following optional property tax classes continue to <br />apply for the County of Essex: <br /> <br />i) Parking Lots and Vacant Land property class; <br />ii) Office Building property class; <br />Hi) Large Industrial property class. <br /> <br />3. THAT the Ministry of Finance and Municipal Property <br />Assessment Corporation be so advised. <br /> <br />4. This By-law shall be deemed to have come into force on the <br />date of passing. <br />
