THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX BY -LA W NO. 39-2006 A BY-LAW TO PROHffiIT THE TAKING OF RECYCLABLE MATERIALS AND WHITE GOODS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX. WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O.200l, c.25 as amended, The Corporation of the County of Essex has assumed jurisdiction over waste management within the County of Essex; AND WHEREAS The Corporation of the County of Essex has instituted a program for the collection of recyclable materials and white goods within the County of Essex; AND WHEREAS The Corporation of the County of Essex deems it necessary to take steps to prevent the removal of recyclable materials and white goods from lands within the County of Essex by unauthorized persons; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: DEFINITIONS 1. In this By-law: (a) "Corporation" shall mean The Corporation of the County of Essex; (b) "County of Essex" shall mean the geographical area known as the County of Essex; (c) "Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority" shall mean the local board created by the Corporation of the County of Essex and City of Windsor by agreement dated May 18, 1994; (d) "recyclable material" shall mean aluminum food or beverage cans, glass bottles and jars for food or beverages, newsprint, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles for food or beverages, steel food or beverage cans, boxboard and paperboard, corrugated cardboard, fine paper magazines, high density polyethylene bottles used for food, beverages, toiletries or household cleaners and any other material or things designated by Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority as a recyclable material to be set out in a recycling receptacle by a resident of the County of Essex as part of the multi-material curbside collection program provided by the Essex- Windsor Solid Waste Authority;
