Personally and on a more serious note, however, what I do believe is
truly refreshing and inspiring about the new American administration is
the new kind of politics that President Obama has consistently been
seeking. I believe we can all appreciate the style of politics that builds
upon those shared understandings that bring people together and more
inherently, those which bring a genuine sense of unity to a nation. And
with such a new energy in place, the country itself and its citizens begin
to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and take up the brave fight
in the face of adversity to re-establish their sense of home, their sense
of community.
Today, I am here with you during one of the most important and
critical times that our Region has ever seen. These are truly defining
times within our time. You will get little argument these days about the
reality that we are going through a fundamental economic
transformation. We have both heard and learned of globalization. It is
truly a double edged sword in this region as globalization has both
helped us and hurt us.
