THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br />BY-LAW NUMBER 29-2000 <br /> <br />BEING A BY-LAW TO ESTABLISH A DATE ON WHICH THE <br />2000 TAX DECREASE PHASE-IN MAY BE DETERMINED AND <br />TO ESTABLISH A DATE ON OR AFTER WHICH FINAL TAX <br />NOTICES FOR 2000 MAY BE ISSUED, PURSUANT TO THE <br />PROVISIONS OF THE FAIRNESS FOR PROPERTY TAXPAYERS <br />ACT, 1998. <br /> <br />WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 7/99 as amended by Ontario Regulation 348/99 provides <br />that each upper-tier and single tier municipality shall determine the date on or after which <br />final tax notices for 2000 may be issued; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 7/99 as amended by Ontario Regulation 348/99 <br />further provides that each upper-tier and single tier municipality shall determine on the <br />said date, the percentage for 2000 under paragraph 2 of subsection 447.51 (4) of the <br />Municipal Act, as amended; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex hereby <br />enacts as follows: <br /> <br />1) THAT the date on or after which final tax notices for 2000 may be issued is hereby <br /> determined to be the 24th day of July 2000. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />THAT the percentages for 2000 under paragraph 2 of subsection 447.51(4) of the <br />Municipal Act, as amended, for the County of Essex shall be as indicated in the <br />attached Schedule 'A'. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />THAT the Treasurer of each lower-tier municipality in the County of Essex shall be <br />advised by the upper-tier of the said date established in Section 1 and the 2000 tax <br />decrease phase-in percentages by class established in Section 2. <br /> <br />THAT each lower-tier municipality advised in Section 3 shall calculate 2000'tax <br />liabilities based on the frozen assessment listing for 2000 for the municipality as <br />revised by the said date determined in Section 1. <br /> <br />5) This by-law shall come into force and take effect on the date of passing. <br /> <br />1~t Reading - July 19~t, 2000 <br />2nd Reading- July 19st, 2000 <br />3rd Reading- July 19st, 2000 <br /> <br /> <br />
