THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br />BY-LAW NO. 30-99 <br /> <br />A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 10-99 BEING A BY- <br />LAW TO PROVIDE PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR <br />CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS AND SIMILAR <br />ORGANIZATIONS WHO ARE OWNERS OR TENANTS <br />OF PROPERTY IN A COMMERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL <br />PROPERTY CLASS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 47/99, filed February 3, 1999, under the <br />Municipal Act established due dates whereby rebates for charities on property to <br />which Division B or Part XXII.2 of the Municipal Act applies for 1998, 1999 and <br />2000; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 344/99, filed May 25, 1999, under <br />the Municipal Act, amended Ontario Regulation 47/99; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 398/99, filed July 29, 1999, under <br />the Municipal Act, further amended Ontario Regulation 47/99; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the County of <br />Essex enacts as follows: <br /> <br />1. THAT Section 6(a)and(b)of By-law #10-99 be revoked and the <br /> following substituted: <br /> <br />a) Subject to Subsection 6(2), for the 1998 taxation year, on or before <br /> June 30,1999. <br /> <br />b) Subject to Subsection 6(3), for the 1999 taxation year, on or before <br /> June 30, 1999 <br /> <br />2. That Section 6 is amended by adding the following subsections: <br /> <br />6(2) If the municipality has not, by June 1, 1999, issued a notice of <br />demand for payment of municipal taxes to which a tax adjustment for <br />1998 applies, the rebate for the 1998 taxation year shall be paid on or <br />before a day that is 60 days after the notice of demand for payment has <br />been issued by the municipality. <br /> <br /> <br />
