THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX BY-LAW # 17-9'9 A BY-LAW TO APPOINT BRIAN J. GREGG CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER FOR THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX. WHEREAS Section 72 of The Municip'alAct, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M45, empo'wers the Council, by by-law, to appoint a Chief Administrative Officer; AND WHEREAS Sub-section 45 of Section 2,07 of the said Act provides that Councils of all municipalities ma,ypass by-laws for appointing such officers and employees as may be necessary for the purposes of the Corporation, or for carrying into effect any Act of the Legislature or by-law of the Council, and for fixing their remuneration and prescribing their duties, and the security to be given for the performance of them; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex deems it desirable to appoint a Chief Administrative Officer, and to prescribe his duties an.d responsibilities; AND WHEREAS Council may deem it desirable, from time to time, to amend those duties and responsibilities; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1) THAT Brian J. Gregg be and he is appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the Corporation of the County of Essex, and shall be hereinafter referred to as the "Administrator". 2) THAT the Administrator's duties and responsibilities shall be: a) The general control and managem.ent of the adlninistration of the government and affairs of the Corporation of the County of Essex; b) He shall be responsible only to the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex for the efficient administration of all its departments. 3) Without limiting the generality of the duties and responsibilities set out in Paragraph 2 above, Schedule "A" , attached hereto and forming part of this by-law, shall prescribe the Administrator's duties and responsibilities as determined by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex.
