16, <br /> <br /> THE CORPORATION OF TEE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br /> BY-LAW NUMBER 2872 <br /> <br />A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW 2473, PASSED DEC~BER <br />1981, TO APPOINT A CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER FOR <br /> THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Section 76 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. <br />1980, Chapter 302, empowers the Council, by By-law, to <br />appoint a Chief Administrative Officer <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS Sub-Section 45 of Section 208 of the <br />said Act provides that Councils of all municipalities <br />may pass By-Laws for appointing such officers and <br />servants as may be necessary for the purposes of the <br />Corporation, or for carrying into effect the provisions <br />of any Act of the Legislature or By-Law of the Council, <br />and for fixing the remuneration and prescribing the <br />duties thereof, and the security to be given for the <br />performance of them; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the <br />County of Essex deems it desirable to appoint a Chief <br />Administrative Officer, and to prescribe his duties and <br />responsibilities as hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS it is deemed desirable to amend those <br />duties and responsibilities; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE <br />COUNTY OF ESSEX ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />John Curran be and he is appointed Chief <br />Administrative officer of the Corporation of <br />the County of Essex, and shall be hereinafter <br />referred to as the "Administrator". <br /> <br />2. The Administrator's duties and responsibilities <br />shall be: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />General control and management of the adminis- <br />tration of the government and affairs of The <br />Corporation of the County of Essex; <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />He shall be responsible only to the Council of <br />The Corporation of the County of Essex for the <br />efficient administration of all its <br />departments. <br /> <br />3.
