CORPORATION OF THE COUNT'~OF ESSEX BY-LAW NO. 2732 A By-Law to regulate parking. WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of The Municipal, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, Section 225, Paragraph 7(c) and Paragraph 9 the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex is desirous of regulating parking; NON THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex enacts as follows: DEFINITIONS: 1. For the purpose of this by-law: (a) "Highway" shall include a common or public highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, any part of which is intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles and includes the area between the lateral property lines thereof. (b) "Park" or "parking" shall mean the standing or stopping of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when standing temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. (c) "Vehicle" shall include a motor vehicle, trailer, traction engine, farm tractor, road-building machine and any vehicle drawn, propelled or driven by any kind of power, including muscular power, but does not include a motorized snow vehicle, the cars or electric or steam railways running only upon rails. METHOD OF 2. (a) PARKING: No person shall park a vehicle on any highway, other than a one-way highway save and except on the right hand side of the highway having regard for the direction in which the vehicle had been proceeding. (b) No person shall park a vehicle on any highway unless the right front and right rear wheels or runners of the vehicle are parallel to and distant respectively not more than 15 centimetres from the edge of the highway.
