THIS AGREFMtl~T made this 1st day of September, 1977. <br />BETWEEN: <br /> <br />THE CORPORATIC~ OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, Road Department, <br />hereiD~fter referred to as the CORPORATICN, <br /> <br />PAFCY OF THE FIRST PART <br /> <br />TEAMSTERS, CHAO~'~'~:oRS, WAREHOUSE~N AND HELPERS, LOCAL 880, <br />affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, <br />Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America <br /> <br />hereinafter called the UNICa, <br /> <br />PAR~Y OF THE SECCND PART <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Union has submitted to the Council of the Corporation <br />certain rec~nendations respecting employment and working cc~ditions for <br />employees of the Corporation who perform certain services for the Corporation. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS the said Council has agreed to accept certain reo~m- <br />mendations, and had, by By-law 2181, authorized the execution of this Agreement. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, this Agreement witnesseth in consideration of the promise <br />and mutual covenants herein cc~tained, the Parties have agreed as follows: <br /> <br />1.01 The Corporation recognized the Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen <br />and Helpers, Local 880, as the exclusive Bargaining Agency for all employees <br />save and except For~m~n, those above the rank of Foremen, and Office Staff. <br /> <br />1.02 The Corporation shall discuss with the Union, through its accredited <br />representatives, all matters pertaining to wages, hours of work, seniority, <br />grievances, and other working conditions which may arise between the~ during <br />the life of the Agreement. <br /> <br />1.03 The Corporation agrees that all employees in the unit who are <br />members of the Union in good standing as of the date hereof, shall remain <br />members of the Union as a condition of continued employment and any such <br />employee who ceases to be a m~nber of the Union, shall, forthwith be discharged <br />by the Corporation, provided, however that any employee who is not now a <br />member of the Union shall have the privilege of beccming a member, or not, <br />as he may decide. <br /> <br /> <br />
