BY-LAWNUMBER 2242 <br /> <br />A BY-LAW TO REGULATE PARKING. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act, <br />1976, Section 373 paragraph 10 (c) the Council of the Corporation of <br />the County of Essex is desirous of regulating parking; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the County <br />of Essex enacts as follows; <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS: <br /> <br />For the purpose of this by-law: <br /> <br />"Park" or "parking", when prohibited, means the stand- <br />ing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when <br />standing temporarily for the purpose of and while <br />actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or <br />passengers. <br /> <br />"Highway" includes a comm~on or public highway, street, <br />avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct <br />or trestle, designed and intended for, or used by, the <br />general public for the passage of vehicles. <br /> <br />"Vehicle" includes a motor vehicle, trailer, traction <br />engine, farm tractor, road-building machine and any <br />vehicle drawn, propelled or driven by any kind of power, <br />includimg muscular power, but does not include a motorized <br />snow vehicle, the cars or electric or steam railways <br />running only upon rails. The Highway Traffic Act, Chapter <br />202, Section 1 (11), (20), (35) R. S. O. 1970. <br /> <br />METHOD OF PARKING: <br /> <br />No person shall park a vehicle on any street other than <br />a one-way street unless on the right hand side of the <br />street having regard for the direction in which the <br />vehicle had been proceeding and unless the right front <br />and right rear wheels or runners of the vehicle are <br />parallel to and distant respectively not more than six <br />inches from the edge of the roadway. <br /> <br />PARKING REGULATIONS: <br /> <br />When properly worded signs have been erected and are on <br />display no person shall park a vehicle on the highways <br />or part of highways hereinafter set out: <br /> <br />STREET <br /> <br />Windsor Suburban Roads Commission Road #gSA, Howard Avenue, <br />both sides of road. <br /> <br />LOCATION <br /> <br />Commencing at the northerly limit of Windsor Suburban <br />Roads Commission Road #18SA, Pike Road, and proceeding <br />350 lineal feet northerly. <br /> <br /> <br />
