COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT made this 14th day of August , 1975. <br /> <br />BETWEEN: <br /> <br />THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, <br /> <br />hereinafter called the "Corporation", <br /> OF THE FIRST PART, <br /> <br />- and - <br /> <br />ONTARIO NURSES' ASSOCIATION, <br /> <br />hereinafter called the "Association", <br /> OF THE SECOND PART. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 1 - PURPOSE <br /> <br />1.O1 The general purpose of this Agreement is to establish mutually <br /> <br />satisfactory employment relations between the Corporation and the registered <br />and graduate nurses covered by this Agreement. It provides for an ongoing <br />means of communication between nurse representatives and the Corporation for <br />the purpose of discussing matters of mutual interest. It also provides <br />means for the prompt settlement of grievances and for the final settlement <br />of disputes. Salaries, hours of work and other conditions of employment <br />will be established by mutual agreement. <br /> <br />1.02 It is recognized that nurses wish to work together with the <br /> <br />Corporation to secure the best possible nursing care and health protection <br />for patients. Appropriate committees have been created under this Agreement <br />to meet this objective. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 2 - RECOGNITION <br /> <br />2.01 The Corporation recognizes the Association as the exclusive <br /> <br />bargaining agent for all employees for whom the Association has been certi- <br />fied as bargaining agent. <br /> <br />2.02 All references to officers, representatives and committee mem- <br /> <br />bers in this Agreement shall be deemed to mean officers, representatives and <br />committee members of the duly chartered local, Nurses Association Sun Parlour <br />Home for Senior Citizens, Local 172 Ontario Nurses' Association. <br /> <br />2.03 In order to protect the standard of nursing care the Corporation <br /> <br />agrees that no one outside of the above.-mentioned bargaining unit shall per- <br />form the work normally performed by members of this bargaining unit except <br /> <br /> <br />
