00 <br />MUNICIPALITY OF COUNTY OF ESSEX <br />BY —LAW 1960 <br />REGULATING PARKING <br />The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of the <br />County of Essex enacts as follows: <br />DEFINITIONS <br />For the purpose of this by —law: <br />"Park" or "parking ", when prohibited, means the <br />standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, <br />except when standing temporarily for the purpose <br />of and while actually engaged in loading or <br />unloading merchandise or passengers. <br />"Street" or "highway" includes a common or public <br />highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, <br />place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, designed and <br />intended for, or used by, the general public for <br />the passage of vehicles. <br />"Vehicle" includes a motor vehicle, trailer, <br />traction engine, farm tractor, road — building <br />machine and any vehicle drawn, propelled or <br />driven by any kind of power, including muscular <br />power, but does not include a motorized snow <br />vehicle, the cars of electric or steam railways <br />running only upon rails. R.S.O. 1960, c. 172, <br />s.l (1); 1961 -62, c.52, s.l, 1962 -63, c.56 <br />s.l; 1964, c.38, s.l; 1965, c.46, s.l (1 -3j; <br />1966, c.64, s.l; 196, c.50, s.l. <br />METHOD OF PARKING <br />No person shall park a vehicle on any street other <br />than a one —way street unless on the right hand side <br />of the street having regard for the direction in <br />which the vehicle had been proceeding and unless <br />the right front and right rear wheels or runners of <br />the vehicle are parallel to and distant respectively <br />not more than six inches from the edge of the <br />roadway. <br />PARKING REGULATIONS <br />When properly worded signs have been erected and <br />are on display no person shall park a vehicle on <br />the highways or part of highways hereinafter set <br />out: <br />STREET — County Road 33, Township of Mlersea, Bevel Line <br />Road, Both Sides of Road. <br />LOCATION — Commencing at the southerly limit of the <br />Diverted Robson Road, thence southerly and <br />easterly a distance of One Thousand, Seven <br />Hundred and Seventy —Five Feet, (1,775 Ft.). <br />PENALTIES <br />Any person violating any of the provisions of this <br />by —law shall be subject to a penalty of not more <br />than Ten Dollars for the first offence and not more <br />than Fifty Dollars for every subsequent offence, <br />under the Ontario Summary Convictions Act. <br />
