MUNICIPALITY OF COUNTY OF ESSEX BY-LAW 1923 REGULATING PARKING The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of the County of Essex enacts as follows: DEFINITIONS For the purpose of this by-law:- "Park" or "parking", when prohibited, means the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when standing temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. "Street" or "highway" includes a common or public highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, designed and intended for, or used by, the general public for the passage of vehicles. "Vehicle" includes a motor vehicle, trailer, traction engine, farm tractor, road-building machine and any vehicle drawn, propelled or driven by any kind of power, including muscular power, but does not include a motorized snow vehicle, the car~-~of electric or steam railways running.only upon rails. METHOD OF PARKING No person shall park a vehicle on any street other than a one-way street unless on the right hand side of the street having regard for the direction in which the vehicle had been proceeding and unless the right front and right rear wheels or runners of the vehicle are parallel to and distant respectiv- ely not more than six inches from the edge of the roadway. PARKING REGULATIONS When properly worded signs have been erected and are on display no p~rson shall park a vehicle on the highways or part of highways hereinafter set out:- STREET - County Road 39, Township of Tilbury North, Lighthouse Road, Both Sides of Road. LOCATION Commencing at the northern limit of the Canadian National Railways Right-of-Way and proceeding northerly and easterly to the Lighthouse Hotel Parking Lot at the Thames River.
