MUNICIPALITY OF COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br /> BY-LAW NUMBER 1854 <br /> <br />RESTRICTING THE WEIGHT OF <br />VEHICLES PASSING OVER A BRIDGE <br /> <br />t~HEREAS subsection ~ of section 52 of The Highway Traffic <br />Act (R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 172) provides that:- <br /> <br />The municipal corporation or other <br />authority having jurisdiction over <br />a bridge may by-by-law approved <br />by the Depertment make regulations <br />limiting the weight of any vehicle <br />or combination of vehicles or any <br />class thereof passing over such Sridge; <br /> <br />AND ,~HERsAS it is deemed expedient to limit the weight <br />vehicles passing over orn. d~e in the [~unmcmpa!mty of <br />the Township of Colchester North. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of aha <br />Municipality of the County of Essex enacts as follows:- <br /> <br />No vehicle or combination of vehicles or <br />any class thereof~ whether empay or <br />loaded, shall be operated over abe bridge <br />known as River Canard Bridge st Lots 15 <br />and 16, S.M.R. Concession on Road between <br />Lots 15 and 16, S.~.R. in the Municipality <br />of Township of Colchesaer North with a <br />weight in excess of 28,000 pounds. <br /> <br />Any person violating any of the provisions <br />of this by-law shall be subject to vhe <br />penalties provided in subsecvion 7 of <br />section 52 of The Highway Traffic Act. <br /> <br />This by-law shall not become effective <br />until approved by the Departmen~ of <br />Transport end until a notice of the limi~ <br />of the weight permitted~ legibly prinved~ <br />has been posted ue in a conspicuous place <br />ay each end of the bridge. <br /> <br />ENACTED AND PASSED this 5th day of November 1969. <br /> <br />1st reading~ 5/11/69 <br />2nd reading- 5/11/69 <br />3rd reading- 5/11/69 <br /> <br /> I, C.
