BY-LAW NUMBER 1821 <br /> <br />A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY <br />OF ESSEX TO PROVIDE FOR VARYING THE TI~E <br />FOR THE RETURN OF THE ASSESSMENT ROLL. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Assessment Act~ R.S.O. 1960~ Chapter 23~ <br />Section 56 provides for the taki~4 of the annual assessment and the return <br />of the Assessment Roll to the Clerk. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS Section 56 (2) allows a Council to vary by by-law <br />the time for taking of the annual assessment and the returning of the Assess- <br />ment Roll to the Clerk not earlier than the 1st day of July and not later than <br />the 1st day of October in the same year. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS Section 65 (b) deems the County Council to be <br />the Council of the local municipality fc.r purposes of Section 56 (a). <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS the Council is of the opinion that the Assessment <br />Rolls can be completed by September 30~ 1969 and wishes to vary the time for <br />taking of the annual assessment and the returning of the Assessment Roll for <br />a n%uuber of municipalities in the County. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE be it enacted and it is hereby enacted by the <br />Council of the County of Essex as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The time of the taki~4 of the annual assessment for the <br />Corporations of the Village of St. Clair Beach~ Township of Tilbury West~ Town <br />of Belle River~ Town of Amherstburg~ Town of Harrow~ Township of Sand%rich South <br />and the Township of Rochester~ shall be between the 1st day of January and the <br />31st day of July~ 1969 and the date for the return of the Assessment Roll to <br />the Clerk shall be not later than August 1~ 1969. <br /> <br /> 2. The time of the taking of the annual assessment for the <br />Corporations of the Township of Sandwich West~ the Town of Essex~ the Township <br />of Anderdon and the Town of Tecamseh~ shall be between the 1st day of January <br />and the 31st day of Angust~ 1969~ and the date for the return of the Assessment <br />Roll to the Clerk shall be not later than September 1~ 1969. <br /> <br /> 3. The ~ime of the taking of the annual assessment for the <br />Corporations of the Township of Maidstone~ Township of Gosfield North~ Township <br />of Colchester North, Township of Colchester South~ Township of Tilbury North~ <br />Township of Malden~ Town of Kingsville~ Township of Gosfield South~ Town of <br />Leamington~ and the Township of Mersea~ shall be between the 1st day of January <br />and the 30th day of September~ 1969 and the date for the return of the Assess- <br />ment Roll to the Clerk shall be not later than October 1~ 1969. <br /> <br /> 4. That all other by-laws inconsistent to this by-law are <br />hereby repealed. <br /> <br />5. This by-law shall come into force upon the final passim4 <br /> <br />thereof. <br /> <br />Read a first and second time this <br /> <br />7th day of May <br /> <br />1969. <br /> <br />1969. <br /> <br />Read a third time and passed this 7th day of May <br /> Wa r d e n <br /> <br /> <br />
