BY-LAW NUMBER 179& <br /> <br />A B'Y-LAW OF IME CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br />FOR THE TAKING OF CENSUS OF THE INHABITANTS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Assessment Commissioner is required to make an <br />Annual Census for the purpose of the Assessment Act~ <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS Section 377 Subsection (20) The Municipal Act~ <br />Chapter 2497 Ro So 0o 1960 and amendments thereto provides for the <br />taking of the Census of the inhabitants. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE be it enacted and it is hereby enacted by the <br />Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. That under the supervision and the direction of the Assess- <br />ment Commissioner of the ~ounty of Essex as duly appointed, a census of <br />the inhabitants in the various towns, villages~ and townships in the <br />County of Essex be made° <br /> <br /> 2. The Assessment Commissioner is hereby empowered to hire <br />a person or persons to take the census in one or more polls~ as the case <br />may be~ in the various monicipalities. <br /> <br />3. Remuneration shall be paid upon a fee basis-- <br /> <br /> (a) For the listing of all persons residing upon the property <br />in designated urban areas--8 cents for each person. <br /> <br /> (b) For the listing of all persons residing upon the property <br />in designated rural areas~ in lieu of travelling expenses--IS cents for each <br />person. <br /> <br />(c) A further rate of 10 cents shall be paid after a second <br /> <br />call. <br /> <br /> (d) For the listing of all dogs found or harboured on the <br />premises--5 cents per call. <br /> <br /> (e) The enumerator will receive an allowance of $10.00 for each <br />day while attending instructional sessions. <br /> <br /> 4. Each person appointed as enumerator shall be required to <br />swear an 0ath of Secrecy~ respecting the information gathered. <br /> <br /> This by-law shall come into force on the day of the final <br />passing thereof. <br /> <br /> Read the necessary times and finally passed this /~ay of <br />January~ 1969. <br /> <br />1st reading-Jan./J~ /69 ._~::'~/~-F~/''/~' -~(~-~~ <br />2nd reading-Jan. ///69 '.
