)SPECIAL BXSSIOR, FIRST DAY. <br />COUMIL CHAI[ata, July 26, 1%6. <br />The Council met in pursuance to a call made by the Warden for a rpeeial <br />meeting of the Council for the purpose of passing by -laws for current <br />eXpenses, and for the payment of qualified Teachers, and also to take <br />ism consideration the resignation of Mr. Nightingale, and to transict such <br />other business as might be brought before the Council. <br />present —the Warden, and Messrs. Malott, Thomas, Askin, Chambers„ <br />Br()uire, Bell, Langlois, McCarthy, Trudel, Ray, Richmond and T. Wigle. <br />The minutes of last June sePeion were read. <br />The Warden explained the object of the meeting. <br />The Clerk read a communication from Mr. Alex. Wilkinson, one of <br />the auditors. <br />Tl a t;lerk read the resignation of Mr. Nightingale as accountant. <br />14oved by Mr. Richmond. seconded by Mr. McGuire, That Henry <br />Davis be, and is hereby appointed messenger to this Council, in room of <br />James Reeves, resigned; and that he be paid $1 per day for each day the <br />Til is in-session.
