HENRY MOBAND, W srdm .t Bylaw b appoint two Auditors for the County of Essex, for the year 1PR5. Passed January 30th, IM5. Whereas by section 260, of the Consolidated Municipal Act, 1883. Every council shall, at the first meeting thereof, in every year after having duly organized, appoint two auditors, one of whom shall be such as the head of the council nominates. Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Essex that Edward Allworth be, and he is hereby appointed County Auditor for the present year. And be it further enacted that on the nomination of the Warden, Eli Oignae be And he is hereby appointed County Auditor for the present year. And be it farther enacted that the said Edward Allworth and Eli Gignac shall saoh be entitled to receive as a salary, the sum of seventy -five dollars per annum payablesemi- annually by the warrant of the Warden who is hereby authorised to ugu the same, provided the work required to be done in the last clause of this By. law, has been performed. The duties of the said auditors shall be to examine and report upon all accounts effecting the corporation of the County of Essex or relating to any matter under its control or within its jurisdiction for the year ending on the 31st day of December,1884. And be it further enacted that the said auditors shall also prepare an abstract of the receipts, expenditures, assets and liabilities of the said corporation, and ahso a detailed statement of the said particulars under the different heads as they appear in the books of the County Treasurer, and report in duplicate on all accounts audited by them, and make a report of any expenditure made contrary to law, and shall fyle the same in the office of the Clerk of the said County within one month sifter their Appointment. Whereas it is expedient to raise monies for the improvement of certain roads and bridges in the County of Essex. Be it therefore enacted by the Council of the corporation of the County of Em", and it is hereby enacted that their shall be raised, levied and collected a rate of one mill in the dollar, amounting to the sum of *8,395, upon the whole rateable property in the County of Essex in the equalization of last year, in addition to 611 other rater and assessments imposed for the improvement of certain road$ and bridges in the County of Essex.
