Sparks, has been a Passed June 14th, 1884. <br />ppointed Gaoler of the County Gad d tae <br />County of Essex, and it is necessary to fix his salary. <br />And whereas, it is necessary to fix the salaries of two Turnkeys for the said Caanty <br />Gaol, who may be appointed as such by the Sheriff of the said County of Fmux. <br />Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Caeety <br />of Essex, in Council assembled, That the said William J. Sparks sh" receive for tae <br />performance of his duties as Gaoler of the ' said County Gaol, a salary of $600.00 per <br />annum. <br />And it is also enacted that the two Turnkeys for the said County Goal, whom tai <br />said Sheriff -may appoint, shall receive for the performance of their duties the ama <br />t660.00 and 1500.00 each, respectively, as reoommended by the said Sheriff, the aid <br />salaries to be paid quarterly by warrants signed by the Warden, who is b"y <br />authorized to sign the same on the County Treasurer. <br />[Signed; THOS. FOX, <br />wudm, <br />A By -Lsvw to provide for the Current Expenses of the County of Esau for tM <br />year 1884. <br />Passed June Nth, 1884. <br />Whereas it is necessary to provide the sum of sixteen thousand, seven hundred and <br />ninety dollars, ($18,790.00) to defray the expenses of the County of Essex, in ecourd <br />awe with the estimate of the Finance Committee. <br />And whereas, for the purpose of raising the said sum of sixteen thousand, aaven <br />hundred and ninety dollars, it will require a rate of two mills in the dollars up w aA <br />rateable property in the said County of Essex. <br />Be it therefore enacted by the corporation of the County of Eeeex, in munch <br />assembled, and it is hereby enacted that there shall be raised, levied and collected a <br />rate of two mills in the dollar upon all rateable property in the said County of Em", <br />for the purpose of raising the said sum of sixteen thousand, seven hundred W nitm) <br />dollars in addition to the other rates and assessments for, and during the prewwt you. <br />for the general expenses of the current year. <br />Be it further enacted that the sum of one dollar and fifty cents be paid to woe <br />we and every Grand and Petit Juror for each day's attendance at any Court of ANA <br />Nisi Prins and General Sessions of the Peace and County Court,and the further sm <br />Of ten dente Per mile, necessarily travelled by such juror from his place of rwideuiv w <br />the Court House of the said County, according to the pay list to bo kept by the Jhursd <br />to the county. <br />And it is also enacted that the Sheriff of the said County shall be entitled to noway <br />the 1o119" sums, and 00 more,tor the services performed by hun uvdnr this B; -1,ww, <br />A <br />
