NkKEE, [Signel] C. G. FOX, Clerk. Warden. BY -LAW NO. -72. I By -Law to raise certain moneys for the improvement of certain Roads and Bridges m the County of Essex. Passed dune 14th, 1884. Whereas, it is expedient to raise moneys for the improvement of certain Roads and &*" in the County of Essex. Be it therefore enacted by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex, in Ngedl assembled, and it is hereby enacted that there shall be raised, levied and col. hided a rate of one mill in the dollar, amounting to the aura of eight thousand, three Walred and ninety -five dollars, ($8,395) upon the whole ratable property in the County of Boaz. In addition to all other rates and assessments imposed, for the t of certain Roads and Bridges in the County of Essex. It further enacted the said sum of eight thousand three hundred and ninety -five jd6n to be raised, levied and collected as aforesaid, shall be expended as set forth in the r1manle hereunder written, which schedule shall form part of this bq -law. W be it further enacted that the whole work to be doneand perfaurmed se aforesaid kU be given out by contract, by public competition, or in such other manner as to the cauniwioner or commissioners, duly appointed to superintend the same, may seem jK on a0dors the first day of September next, and should any one of the said eoru- aiomm fail to be present at the tame appointed for the letting of the work then any at of the oommummers may proceed to the letting of the same. Lad be it further enacted that all contracts entered into for the performance of the work to be done under the provisions of this By -law ahall be signed by thec ommissiou- a ar commissioners letting the same, on behalf of the County oorporation,and that all Rune be paid by the Treasurer of the County upon a certificate being produced frorn the Na commissioner or commissioners letting the same of the work having been per. krard wwrding to contract. And be it further enacted that the several commissioners so appointed to superin_ rod she letting of the work to be done as aforesaid shall receive four per cent. upu,l wanctaentered into by them under the provisions of this By -Law.
