<br />quired to appoint annually two persons, one of whom shall belong to such euuucit. to be member.

<br />Veit therefore enacted by the municipal council of the corporation of the county of Essex in
<br />council assembled, that Thomas Plant, ane of the menihers of the said council, aull TItaua; McKee
<br />be, tad they are hereby appointed, members of the said Board of Audit.
<br />And be it turther enacted; that the members of the said Board of A udit shall be id the sum of
<br />four dollars each per day for their attendance at such audit, and the further sum of five Gents per

<br />A By -law to appoint two Auditors for the county of Essex for the year 1884. [Passed Jan. 25.1884]
<br />WHERFAs, By section 260 of the Consolidated Municipal Act, 1883, every council shall at the
<br />first meeting thereof in every year after being duly organized, appoiutatwo auditors, one of whets
<br />shall be such person as the head of the council nominates.
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the municipal corporation of the county of Essex in council assetttl,lev
<br />that Eli Gignac be, and he to hereby appointed county auditor for the present year. And be d it
<br />further enacted, that on the nomination of the Warden, Edward Allworth be and he is hereby
<br />appointed county auditor for the present year.
<br />And be it further enacted, that the said Eli Gignae and Edward Allworth shall each be entitled
<br />to receive as a salary the sum of seventy -five dollars per annum, payable semi - annually by the
<br />warrants of the Warden, who is hereby authorized to sign the saute provided the work required
<br />to be done in the last clause of this by -law has been performed.
<br />That the duties of the said auditors shall be to examine and report upon all accounts &A%eUag
<br />thecorporation of the county of Essex, or relating to any matter under its control or within its
<br />jurisdiction, for the year ending on the 3181; day of December, IN3. And be it further enacted,
<br />that the said auditors shall also prepare an abstract of the receipts, ezpenditurtb, sate 111, and lia.
<br />bilities of the said corporation, and also a detailed statement of the said particulars under the dif-
<br />ferent heads as they appear in the books of the county treasurer, and report in duplicate on &II
<br />accounts audited by them and make a report of any expenditure made contrary to law, and shall
