<br />A It Law to raise certain mott"s for the improwenew of certain Roads and Bridges in the Canrttle
<br />x. Passed June godN s88s.
<br />Wbereas, it is expedient to raise moneys for the improvement of certain Rotrds and
<br />Bridges in the County of Essex:
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex is
<br />Caancil assembled, and it is hereby enacted under the authority of the same, and under
<br />pdby virtue of the Municipal Act of Ontario that there shall be raised, levied and coo
<br />ted the sum of $9,675, upon the whole rateable property in the County of Essex is
<br />addition to all other rates and assessments imposed for the improvement of certain Roads
<br />aid Bridges in the County of Essex; •
<br />Be it further enacted that the said sum of $9,675, to be raised, levied and collected as
<br />aforesaid, shall -be expended as set forth in the schedule hereunder written whisk schNir
<br />de shall form part of this By -Law;
<br />And be it further enacted that the whole work to be done and perfortned as a bressA
<br />shall be given out by contract by public competition, or in such other manner as to the
<br />Co maissioner or Commissioners duly appointed to superintend the same may seem best
<br />nor before the first day of September next, and should any one of the said Commis.
<br />sioners fail to be present at the time appointed for the letting of the work, then any ate
<br />of the commissioners may proceed to the letting of the same;
<br />ArZbe it further enacted that all contracts entered into for the performance Of the
<br />work to be done under the provisions of this By -Law shall besigned by the Commissioner
<br />orCommissionem letting the same on behalf of the County Corporation and that all stuns
<br />be paid by the Treasurer of the County upon a certificate being provided from the said
<br />Cotnmissioner or C:omnii sioners letting the salve if the work having been performad AC-
<br />lwdina to contract;
<br />And be it further enacted that the several Commissioners so appointed to superintend
<br />the letting of the work to be clone as aforesaid, shall receive four per cent. upon contracts;
<br />accred into by them under the provisions of this By -Law;
<br />And be it further enacted that the several Commissioners aforesaid under this By -Law
<br />he and they are hereby required to se» tl a report of the manner in which the ap
<br />cans for which they are Comiiaiasionetx have been spent, to the County Clerk not later
<br />that the twenty -trst day of December next;
<br />And he it further enacted that the appointment of said Commissioner or 4omaatsitow
<br />etaltall cease and expire on the thirty -fired of December next; and they shall be paid
<br />oalp for the amount expended by them..
