<br />And be it further enacted that James S. Laird be, and is hereby appointed, to sD
<br />intents and purposes, the County Engineer for the said County of Essex,

<br />rate of $5 per diem.

<br />Whereas, it is expedient and necessary to appoint a proper and competent h
<br />person
<br />inspect the books of all such incorporated Joint Stock Road Companies, over w6i o
<br />the Municipal Council of the County of Essex has jurisdiction:
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the corporation of the County of Essex, that the ward%
<br />be, and he is hereby appointed, Inspector of the books and affairs of all the Incorp".
<br />ated Joint Stock Companies, over which the Municipal Council of the said Caunty )�
<br />or may have jurisdiction.
<br />And be it further enacted that the duties of the said Inspector shall be to il�s tip
<br />books and affairs annually, of each of the said companies, and report f.tlly thereat dw1
<br />ing his term Of office.
<br />And be it further enacted that the said Warden shall receive the sum of $4 per ds
<br />for each day that he may be actually and necessarily engaged as such Inspectur, and thi
<br />Warden is hereby authorized to sign warrants upon the Treasurer of the Couuty of
<br />Essex for the same,
<br />The appointment of the said Warden as such Inspector as aforesaid, shall aW
