RU89ELL, <br />BY -LAW No. 86. <br />d By_140 to app9int a Janitor of the Court House of the Co" of Ewes. <br />WHEREAS, It is necessary to appoint a Janitor of the Court <br />,louse of the County of Essex, and to define the duties to be by him <br />performed. <br />Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corpo. <br />ration of the County of Essex, that James Smith be and he is here- <br />by appointed Janitor of the Court House of the County of Essex, to <br />hold the said office at the pleasure of the council of the said corpo- <br />ration. <br />And be it further enacted that the duties appertaining to the said <br />office of Janitor, and to be by him performed, shall be as follows: He <br />,ha1l sweep the different offices of the officials of the said county <br />every morning, and otherwise keep them in a state of perfect cleanli- <br />ness and order. He shall also sweep the court room and other rooms <br />,connected with the business of the courts, at all times whenever the <br />courts shall be sitting, and keep the same, as well as all property ap- <br />pertaining to the said rooms, in the state above mentioned, and shall <br />also attend all meetings of the selectors of jurors, and shall keep the <br />room in which they meet in the state of order mentioned. He shall <br />light all fires in the said offices and court room and other rooms, <br />and be careful that the ashes are emptied and deposited in such places <br />will insure no danger of fire. <br />He shall attend to the sessions of the council of the said county <br />whenever required to do so. He shall otherwise attend to all such <br />other duties which he may be required to perform by the Warden <br />or council of the said county, and report to the Clerk for the infor- <br />mation of the Warden anything required to be done or repaired in <br />l said offices, court room and other rooms. <br />
